A Bamint mercenary, Darun's renown only grew further after Bamint's battle against the Demons. Ensared by an enemy feint, his mercenary squadron found itself surrounded by enemy soldiers. While his fellow mercs considered escape or desertion, Darun charged in alone, sending the enemy into disarray and buying his squad an opening to escape. "It had the best odds," he said afterwards.
